IB Diploma Program in Beirut for Global University Preparation
Our IB Diploma Program in Beirut gives students in Grades 11 and 12 a rigorous, internationally recognized pathway that builds research, critical thinking and independent learning skills while preparing them for university study in Lebanon and abroad.
An IB Diploma Program in Beirut Built Around Depth and Independence
The final years of school ask students to make important choices about subjects, future study and the way they want to learn. A strong high school pathway should give them academic challenge while also helping them manage time, think independently and communicate their ideas with confidence.
At Eastwood, students entering the IB Diploma Program do so after successful completion of Grade 10 and subject to applicable Ministry of Education requirements. The two-year program follows international IB standards and asks students to engage seriously with both their chosen subjects and the wider Diploma Program core.
Students complete courses across six subject groups, typically combining higher-level and standard-level study. They also complete the Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service, which bring research, reflection and learning beyond individual subjects into the program.
For families searching for an IB school in Beirut, this structure provides a clear picture of what university preparation can look like: demanding academic work, independent research, sustained responsibility and opportunities to connect learning across disciplines.
What Students Experience in Eastwood’s IB Diploma Program
The IB Diploma Program encourages students to examine ideas from different perspectives and support their thinking with evidence. Alongside subject knowledge, students develop research, analysis, academic writing, communication and self-management skills that are useful when they move into higher education.
Eastwood’s IB-DP students follow a full weekly academic schedule and have dedicated opportunities for study and collaboration. The school also supports students who are preparing for internationally recognized examinations connected with university applications.
Not every student follows the same high school route. Eastwood also offers the American High School Diploma and Lebanese Program, and eligible students may discuss other IB course options with the school where applicable. Families can speak with the school counsellors and admissions team about the pathway that fits the student’s academic plans.
Because the Diploma Program has specific course, assessment and graduation requirements, we encourage parents and students to review the program carefully before applying and ask our team about current subject availability and entry requirements.
