IB Accredited School in Beirut: Our Accreditations

Eastwood International School is an IB World School authorized for the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programs. We also share our school accreditation history and educational partnerships so families can make an informed choice.

An IB Accredited School in Beirut With Credentials Parents Can Check

When a school talks about international standards, it helps to know what has actually been reviewed. Is the school authorized to teach the IB? Does it have a record of broader school accreditation? And how do these credentials affect the education a student receives?

At Eastwood, we want families to have clear answers. The International Baccalaureate (IB) lists us as an IB World School, school code 051269, authorized to offer the Primary Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Program (DP). Our IB journey began with the Diploma Program in 2016, followed by PYP authorization in 2019 and MYP authorization in 2021.

Our Early Years classes include Nursery, KG1 and KG2, with English and French sections. From our campus in Mansourieh el Metn in the Beirut area, we welcome families who want their child to begin with a thoughtful, active introduction to school. Our preschool combines Montessori-based early learning with the IB-PYP, so these foundations are part of a connected school pathway.

International Baccalaureate (IB World School) Authorization

Our IB authorization means Eastwood has been approved by the International Baccalaureate to offer specific IB programs. The IB’s official Eastwood school record confirms PYP, MYP and DP authorization. For families, this establishes which IB curriculum pathways are available here rather than relying on a general claim to teach “international” subjects.

IB Primary Years Program (PYP) | Authorized in 2019

The PYP is the inquiry-led foundation for younger learners, including our Montessori-based Early Years and primary classes. We offer English and French PYP pathways, supporting communication, curiosity and a growing ability to learn independently. Families with younger children can start by exploring our IB-PYP Early Years and elementary program.

IB Middle Years Program (MYP) | Authorized in 2021

The MYP is designed for students aged 11 to 16. It helps learners make connections across subjects, think critically, research ideas and reflect on their work. Our middle school program builds on earlier IB learning while helping students prepare for more independent study in high school.

IB Diploma Program (DP) | Authorized in 2016

The two-year IB Diploma Program is offered in Grades 11 and 12. Students combine subject study with the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and Creativity, Activity, Service. It is a challenging academic pathway for students preparing for higher education. Learn about our IB Diploma program and speak with our team about current subject choices and entry requirements.

NCA CASI / Cognia School Accreditation History

Alongside IB authorization, our school accreditation history records accreditation by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), associated with Cognia, in 2011 and again in 2016. School-wide accreditation considers aspects of an institution beyond a single curriculum. Because those dates describe historical accreditation cycles, families who need the latest supporting documents can request them from our admissions team.

Apple Education Partnership | A Different Kind of Recognition

We have been an Apple School since 2015. Our education technology partnership supports teaching, teacher development and the use of technology in learning. It is a useful part of our approach, but it is not the same as independent school accreditation or IB program authorization. Read about our Apple partnership.
