Keep Love in Your Hearts at Eastwood International School

It is good to love many things,
for therein lies the true strength,
and whosoever loves much performs much,
and can accomplish much,
and what is done in love is well done!

—Vincent van Gogh

Undeniably, love is the greatest commandment, and it is one of the most essential virtues that define humankind. When we develop the power to love purely, sincerely, and unconditionally, we will have the power to prosper, grow, and, most importantly, achieve internal peace. The tranquility established will set us free and will enable us to perceive negative encounters as opportunities of growth and as challenges that encourage further dedication and commitment.

With the increasing intensity of hate being spread around these days, we, at Eastwood International School, find it empirical to instill the spirit of love within our community. And, thankfully, we do just that with the immense contribution of our devoted administrators, faculty, staff, and students. We also always aim at maintaining and promoting this spirit to ensure that our community’s chief constituent is nothing but love!

What do we do? How do we do it? Why do we do it?

The What

There is no better way of saying it other than we simply love. We love who we are and what we do. We love seeing our community members walk into campus every day with smiles on their faces. We love joining students on their learning discoveries. We love celebrating successes, and we love learning from unsuccessful moments, too.

Essentially and evidently, whatever it is that we are doing, we make sure to do it with supreme love!

The How

The “how” of instilling so much love in a community relies heavily on each person within that community. At Eastwood International School, every member believes in love and the power it possesses. To love and be loved, we do the following:

  • We ensure safety in all aspects.
  • We trust our members.
  • We respect uniqueness and authenticity.
  • We share our humanity with everyone.
  • We develop compassion.
  • We accept differences.
  • We embrace change.
  • We encourage laughs and smiles.
  • We love.

The Why

The above-mentioned positive behaviors, among many others, promote the spirit of love. They signify the individuality and value of each member in our community.

We love because everyone deserves to be loved. We love because we want to show our students that Eastwood is a place, where mistakes are acknowledged and learned from. To make mistakes is to admit we are human. Without those errors, we would not have a chance to deliver our best and excel at what we do. We love because we know that each one of us is fighting his/her own battle, and, so, with this little act of kindness we do, we hope to alleviate life’s burdens.

Keep Love in Your Heart

On a final note, we urge all schools in Lebanon to be places that radiate love. Lebanon is in real need for this. So, no matter what you do, do it with love. And, as Oscar Wilde would have said, “Keep love in your heart.
